Welcome to our page dedicated to the unique 3D Printed Collapsing Lea Lightsaber. This lightsaber, inspired by the legendary character of Princess Leia from Star Wars, represents a breakthrough in the field of 3D printing and fan props.
This Lea Lightsaber is a masterpiece of design and 3D printing technology. Its blue blade, made from highly durable material, consists of several segments that effectively retract into the handle. This innovative design allows for easy folding and unfolding of the saber, making it ideal for cosplay, exhibitions, or as a decorative item for Star Wars fans. I think there would be no problem mounting LED diodes with a battery in the handle to illuminate the entire blade like a real lightsaber.
For those who want to embark on creating their own Collapsing Lea Lightsaber, we offer a detailed guide to 3D printing. Our step-by-step instructions will take you through the entire process, from selecting the right material, setting up the 3D printer, to the final assembly of the blades. This enables you to create your own functional replica of this iconic lightsaber. The handle of the saber prints quite simply, assuming you use a standard 0.4 mm nozzle. Then you do not need to set anything special, at least 3 perimeters and if you set 100% infill, layer height 0.16mm - you wont mess up anything. Printing the retractable blade of the saber is a bit more complicated. If you have a precise printer and well-tuned retractions, you can print all the blades at once, nested inside each other. If you have problems with precision or retractions, I recommend printing the blade one at a time using vase mode, set the layer height to 0.2mm and width to 0.6mm to ensure proper strength. Try printing the 2 thickest blades with this setting. If the blade retracts smoothly from the handle and the second stage extends, you are in luck. If the blade does not fully extend, I recommend reducing the width to 0.45 mm and trying to print the lightsaber blade again.
To obtain this unique lightsaber, you can find a free link to download STL files for 3D printing Leias lightsaber from Star Wars on our website. These files have been carefully designed to ensure that each segment of the saber fits perfectly and ensures smooth blade movement. With these files and our guide, you can start making your own Lea Lightsaber with the assurance that the result will be stunning.
Check out our video on how we printed the saber. If all the individual parts slip and fall out during extension, there is another solution to adjust the blades to hold. If you have a heat gun, lightly heat about 5 cm of the thicker end of the blade. The important part is about 3cm. The material should be more flexible. Gently with your fingers, you can expand this part and thus achieve that the blade gets stuck in these places when extending. Be careful with the temperature to avoid burning yourself during this manipulation. - This adjustment procedure is at your own risk. Follow the same procedure for all stages. If you have expanded the blade too much in a certain place, reheat it to make it flexible again, insert it into the larger part and try to pull the blade through to the point where it could get stuck during full extension. That is it...
